A 2-day stay in the Malaysian capital is plenty, because although the people are lovely … there is not much to do or see. Kuala Lumpur is a shopping mall town, peppered with sprawling (understatement) malls from the teeny-bopper oriented to the uber high-end.
The best breakfast buffet on earth happens to reside at the Westin (all the standard items plus a Japanese station, Indian station, Malaysian station, charcuterie, fresh squeezed juice bar, smoothie bar, donut bar!, crepe station, yogurt bar … it was never ending and beautifully appointed). It's on Sundays. There's also a very cool Latin bar/restaurant in the hotel called QBA (the Malaysian play on “Cuba”).
Pavillions, a high-end mall (Gucci, Prada, standard stuff) happens to offer an incredible food court – a fancy, clean, delicious one with all sorts of things to try.
The city’s famous Petronas Towers are as cool as they claim, and – of course – flank a great shopping mall.
HOTELS: Le Meridien, Mandarin Oriental & Traders Hotel are all very nice.
